SELF-DECLARATION regarding FSC- POL-01-004 (Policy for the association of organizations with the FSC™)
The undersigned organization is associated with the Forest Stewardship Council A.C., Oaxaca, Mexico, or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates (hereinafter referred to as the FSC™) either by being affiliated or by having a contractual relationship with the FSC™. The undersigned organization hereby explicitly declares to have read and understood the "policy for the association of organizations with the FSC™" as published in www.fsc.org. This policy stipulates the FSC™'s position with respect to impermissible activities undertaken by organizations and individuals who are already associated or who may wish to associate with the FSC™, as well as the mechanism for disassociating.
In view of the above, the organization explicitly agrees now and in the future, as long as the relationship with the FSC™ exists, not to participate directly or indirectly in the following impermissible activities:
a) Illegal logging or trade of illegal timber or forest products;
b) Violation of traditional and human rights in silvicultural operations;
c) Destruction of high conservation values in silvicultural operations;
d) Significant conversion of forests to plantations or non-forest uses;
e) Introduction of genetically modified organisms in forestry operations;
f) Violation of any of the ILO fundamental agreements as defined in the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.
In turn, the organization is committed to complying with each and every one of the FSC™'s core labor requirements for all its operations, including the following as basic principles:
- To always work with due regard to the rights and obligations established by national laws.
- Not to employ workers under the minimum age stipulated in national or local laws or regulations, considering additional points of compliance in particular cases regarding regions that allow the employment of individuals between 13 and 15 years of age, hazardous work, and prohibition of the worst forms of child labour.
- To prohibit all forms of forced or compulsory labour, including the additional points and clauses described in point 7 of the standards to be met.
- To ensure that there is no discrimination related to the allocation of jobs or the freedom of workers in terms of their labour and collective bargaining rights.
