The emblematic Palazzo Ferrania by architect Gio Ponti, built in Milan in 1942 on the corner of Corso Matteotti and San Pietro all'Orto, is the space chosen by Zara Home for the opening of its new flagship store.

With a total area of 850 square meters and inspired by the privileged location in which it is situated, clean lines and simple geometry, the new Zara Home flagship store in Milan is designed following the layout of a home.

Its imposing four-meter-high entrance leads to the two floors of sales area connected by a staircase, the structure of which we have developed, manufactured and installed at KIMAK, leaving the steps and railings ready to be covered, with subsequent placement of the metal handrail.

On the facade, we have replaced the carpentry on the second floor and warehouse, all with a special fireproof opening system to facilitate evacuation. We have also replaced the main entrance door, which is five meters high and follows the same aesthetics as the existing large windows on the first floor in order to preserve the image of the building.

To undertake and work on historic buildings signed by renowned architects is always an opportunity to help preserve the cultural heritage of a city, a task in which we take great care and dedication.
